The ATZ-TPH®-process makes a distinctly increased mass reduction of organic waste materials possible. The process conditions also allow for the treatment of hygienically questionable waste material like animal by-products and make them available to mono fermentation. Depending on the composition of the raw material, 200 to 300 cubic meters of biogas with an average content of above 70 % methane can be produced from 1 000 kg of animal by-products. Because of the process conditions, the ATZ-TDH®-process is an authorized alternative treatment process for class 1 risk material specified in the EU-directive 92/2005.
The volume of sewage sludges can be reduced distinctly, up to 60 %, by the ATZ-TDH®-process, accompanied by simultaneous energy production. The demand of process energy for thermal pre-treatment can be satisfied by the waste heat of the combined heat and power plant, where the biogas is converted into electricity. This leads to economic advantages compared to other sludge disintegration processes, that require electrical energy. |
